존스홉킨스는 국제관계(International Relations)로 미국내에서도 굉장히 유명합니다. 국제관계 학부순위에서 조지타운,프린스턴 등과 함꼐 꾸준히 Top5에 드는 명성을 가지고 있고 국제관계 전공하는 제 친구들 말로는 2004년 랭킹에선 1위를 했다고 좋아하더군요 ㅡ.ㅡ;
캠퍼스는 볼티모어에 있는데,
워싱턴 DC에 Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies라는 곳이 있습니다. 국제관계 대학원인데요, 미국의 수도 디씨에 위치해 있고, 정말 유명한 곳이라고 들었습니다. 이 대학원 이름에 새겨진 Paul Nitze는 얼마전에 돌아가신 분인데, 클린턴행정부때까지 미국에 대외정책에 지대한 영향력을 가진 인사였다고 합니다. 어쨌든, 국제관계를 공부하고 싶으시다면 존스홉킨스는 프린스턴,조지타운 등과 더불어 생각해볼수있는 옵션이라고 말씀드리고 싶네요
존스홉킨스의 수준...은 아이비리그에 뒤지지 않는다고 자부합니다.
존스홉킨스가 여타 아이비리그나 스탠포드 등에 비해 저평가를 받는 이유는
의대쪽으로만 명성이 쏠려있어서 인데, 실제로는 많은 부분에서 미국내 Top을
달리는 학교입니다. 스탠포드,하버드에 비해 물론 명성이야 조금 떨어지겠지만, 그래도 미국에서 공부를 했다는 사람은 모두 아는 명문대학이고 특히, 국제관계,생물,생명공학,의학공학 등은 거의 미국 최고수준을 달리는 학교입니다.
