The Ch’usŏk is the Korean Thanks-giving Day which falls on the 15th of August by lunar calendar. Another name of Ch’usŏk is the Full-moon Harvest Day. We pray to the moon our wishes. For Koreans, the Ch’usŏk is the most festive holiday with a variety of festivals, traditional games, and ex-changes of gifts. We make our way to hometowns to pay homage to our ancestors’ graves on Ch’usŏk. By the way this Ch’usŏk has no moon. We Korean are hit by a typhoon Maemi.
