1982년부터 강북구(당시는 도봉구)와 깊은 인연을 맺고
이곳저곳을 두루 살피며 살아왔습니다.
오랜 산고(産苦)를 거쳐 지은 '강북8경(江北八景)' 정고본(定稿本)을 발표합니다.
누가 시켜서가 아니라, 그저 강북의 산천이 좋아서 한 일입니다.
이 여덟 구절을 통해 우리 강북의 자연과 인문이 비로소 제 이름을 찾기를 희망합니다.
정갈하고 장엄하며, 나름의 힘과 격조를 담으려 고심했습니다만,
독자 여러분께는 어떻게 다가갈지 설레는 마음으로 내놓습니다.

三陽曉霧 (삼양효무)
- 삼양동에 피어오르는 신령스런 새벽 안개
四墓參拜 (사묘참배)
- 자유·민주·정의를 꽃피운 4.19묘지 참배
五牌群芳 (오패군방)
- 오패산 기슭에 피어난 향기로운 온갖 꽃들
松田風致 (송전풍치)
- 우이 솔밭공원 천년 노송들의 드높은 풍치
道華梵音 (도화범음)
- 도선사와 화계사에서 들려오는 염불 소리
夢林淸池 (몽림청지)
- 북서울꿈의숲의 연못에 비친 맑은 그림자
彌阿落月 (미아낙월)
- 드넓은 언덕 너머로 유유히 저무는 달빛
牛耳精氣 (우이정기)
- 우이령 걸으며 받아들이는 산하의 정기
이제 이 문장들은 붓끝을 통해 살아있는 생명체로 거듭나게 해야 합니다.
강북의 인문과 자연을 함축적으로 담아내기가 이토록 어려울 줄은 몰랐습니다.
이제 무거운 짐을 잠시 내려놓고, 묵향 가득한 꿈속에서 편히 쉬려 합니다.
