정해 설날을 맞이하여
일가친지들이 함께 모이기가 힘든 세상이 되었다.
그렇게 모여 보았자
애들 기준으로 4촌 정도이고 보면
참으로 조촐한 명절이 되고 말았다.
생각해 보면 어린 시절에는
설날이면 으레 새벽같이 일어나 세배를 다니고
온종일 차례와 음복으로 하루를 보냈으며,
보름까지 온 마을 어른들과 이웃끼리 어울려
윷놀이, 연날리기, 쥐불놀이 등을 하면서
가난해도 엄청 즐겁게 보낸 기억에 눈시울이 뜨겁다.
할아버지 대까지만 해도
일생 동안 100 리 밖을 나가보지 못하고
한 골짜기에서 일생 동안
그것도 대대로 농사지으며 마을을 지키고
살다가 가곤 했던 모습을 무척
불쌍하게 생각했었는데
명절을 당하고 보면 외려 그 때가 그립기도 하다.
형제도 결혼하면 핵가족화 되고,
먹고 살기라고 이리저리 흩어져 살다가 보면,
친구보다 직장 동료보다 참으로 먼
피붙이가 되고 만다.
정말 서먹서먹한 세상이 되고 말았다.
그러나 어쩌랴.
떡국에 한잔 들이키고 허접한 속을
쓸어내려야지......
상 위의 봄나물처럼
힘을 내야지......
