宋故建威將軍齊北海二郡太守笠鄉侯東陽城主劉府君墓誌銘
苕苕玄緒，灼灼飛英，分光漢室，端彔宋庭。
曾是天從，凝睿窮靈，高沉兩剋，方圓雙清。
眩紫皇極，剖金連城，野獸朝浮，家犬夕寧。
淮棠不翦，澠鴞改聲，履淑違徵，潛照長冥。
鄭琴再寢，吳涕重零，銘慟幽石，丹□□□。
<해설>
此段是对墓主一生的总结和颂扬。第一句写出身尊贵，前八个字是形容，后面八字说明他是汉朝皇室之后，在宋朝任官。这一点联系《南齐书·刘怀珍传》载“刘怀珍字道玉，平原人，汉胶东康王后也。”以及后文关于墓主的籍贯可知，墓主与刘怀珍应该同为胶东康王之后的平原刘氏。
第二句是描写他的气质风度。
第三、四句写他的功绩，主要突出了德行。
最后一句惋惜他的亡故。
