오리 이원익(1547～1634)은 죽은 동료의 비문을 만드는데 필요한 비용을 마련하기 위해 동분서주하였는데, 동료로서의 도타운 정을 볼 수 있다.(사진 위) 한편, 조선중기 대표적 명문장가로 알려진 상촌 신흠(1566～1628)의 편지는 집안의 제사에 쓸 얼음을 구해줄 것을 부탁하는 내용에서 일상생활의 모습이 그대로 묻어난다.(사진 아래)
