I met some foreign friends here.
They are from west province of Australia, Newzealand, and Mozambique in Africa.
The Australian people enjoy a life with leisure.
They maintain their health by original state of nature.
But it is pity I cannot find a native anywhere in Australia now.
오스트레일리아의 시드니의 머큐어호텔에서 첫밤을 맞았다.
몇몇 외국 친구들과 수영장에서 맥주를 마시며 대화를 나누었다.
그들의 격의 없는 대화 문화에 시샘이 나기도 했다.
오스트레일리아 서부에서 온 사람, 뉴질랜드에서 온 친구,
아프리카 모잠비크에서 온 친절한 벗 등등.
오스트레일리아 사람들은 한가로운 삶을 즐긴다.
그들은 원시적인 자연에서 건강을 지키며 살아가고 있다.
그런데 어디에서도
오스트레일리아 원주민을 아직은 찾을 수 없어서 안타깝다.
곰곰히 생각해 볼 일이다.
역사의 뒤안길이 뇌리를 스친다.

대상에 대한 개념이 오히려 분명히 다가온다.
태평양을 건너서 바라본
조국 대~한민국이 그렇고,
서예 또한 그랬다.
백인종 속의 황인종인 나.
황금보다 백금이 더 비싸다는 사실이 밉다.
좁은 땅에서 공해에 찌들고,
잦은 사건 사고와
통일의 아픔이 있을지라도
그래도 조국이 좋다.
서예에 대한 인식이 없는
호주, 뉴질랜드 사람들 속에서
서예 활동을 통하여
먹 문화 뿌리를 내릴 수 있을까 생각해 본다.
먹을 영어로 Indian Ink라고 부른다는 사실이 아쉽다.
지금부터
한류(韓流)의 세계화
書藝의 세계화를 위한
인프라를 구축하자.
문화 수출을 통한
문화 외적인 시너지 효과에도
관심을 돌려야 할 때이다.
