말씀하신 내용이 다 맞는 듯하군요.
옛날에는 쌀, 베, 비단, 조개 껍데기, 화살촉 등을
실물화폐로 사용했는데,
지역에 따라 달랐겠지요?
강가나 바닷가 쪽은 조개로,
농촌에서는 베 또는 쌀을,
그리고 귀족끼리는 비단을 화폐로 사용하지 않았을까요?
농경사회에서 베를 화폐로 사용한 예로
가포(價布), 폐포(弊布), 포화(布貨) 따위의 말이 있습니다.
놀랍게도 貝자에는 '무늬있는 고운 비단'이란 의미도 있습니다.
그래서 貝錦(패금)이란 '고운 비단'의 의미이고
貝子, 貝貨는 화폐의 의미가 된 것이지요.
